Crown Estate Scotland was established in 2017 to manage the assets of the Crown in Scotland, and is responsible for most of the seabed and nearly half the foreshore.
RYA Scotland was involved in every stage of consultation in devolving The Crown Estate assets in Scotland to the new body, and consulted in the development of pilot schemes for local management of assets in some areas, as currently being evaluated.
RYA Scotland maintains a productive working relationship with Crown Estate Scotland,consulting on how licences for moorings, aquaculture and renewable energy developments may affect recreational boating interests.
