Club Conference

The RYA Northern Ireland annual Club Conference brings together affiliated club volunteers and representatives from across Northern Ireland.   

The conference will normally outline a latest RYANI Regional update based on the RYA annual census, includes a number of  club development workshops and also gives the opportunity for volunteers to form part of a wider network and support on another.

Club Conference 2020

The 2021 Club Conference was held online due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.  It explored the theme of ‘a different world with new opportunities’, in recognition of the challenging times clubs have endured over 2020, the changes that have taken place and the innovative ideas that have since emerged.

Our host was Double Olympic gold medallist and broadcaster Shirley Robertson and key note speakers included Ben Ainslie and Chris Grant who ensured this was an informative, insightful and enjoyable event.   Further workshops were held over the course of the subsequent week, including:

1. How can your club use the RYA’s development model to help ensure a positive future for your club and members?

2. How can your club successfully recruit and manage your team of volunteers?

3. Why is improving satisfaction, engagement and communication important to retain your club members? · 

4. Why a diverse membership matters and how to use a person-centred approach to deliver a great experience to a wider audience?

5. How can your club promote itself to potential new members?

6. How can your club best use the RYA’s support to minimise their impact on the environment?

7. How can your engagement with the local community enable you to explore your full potential creating impact through the power of sport?
